STARMAN
CARTIER CHAMPION SPRINTER
The leading first crop sire in Europe!
And already a GROUP 1 sire!

Top performers already include the Group winners Venetian Sun, Green Sense, Lady Iman & North Coast
Starman was a sprinter of the highest order.

Trained by Ed Walker for breeder David Ward, Starman broke the track record at Doncaster on his second run followed by a victory in the Listed Garrowby Stakes at York.
Starman was the impressive winner of the Group 2 Duke Of York Stakes at York before breaking through at top level with a clear-cut success in the Group 1 July Cup at Newmarket.
He also ran third in the Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville and beaten just a short head in Group 1 Betfair Sprint Cup at Haydock.
As the winner of five races and earnings of over £476,000 in prize-money, Starman retired to stud as the top-rated sprinter in Europe.

Accordingly, he was crowned the CARTIER CHAMPION SPRINTER OF 2021.

Extremely popular in his first season at stud, STARMAN has made a brilliant start as the sire of Group 1 Prix Morny heroine Venetian Sun, Group 2 Prix Robert Papin winner Green Sense, and the Group 3 winners Lady Iman and North Coast - all from his first crop of 2yos!

''He's going to Tally-Ho and I know them well. My first horse was by Kodiac and I feel he's going to the right place. I feel proud and blessed to have bred him and hopefully it's just the next chapter for him."
