STARMAN
CARTIER CHAMPION SPRINTER
ALREADY A STAKES SIRE!
Unbeaten Lady Iman led home a 1-2 for Starman in the G3 Blackbeard Stakes at Naas

Starman was a sprinter of the highest order.

Trained by Ed Walker for breeder David Ward, Starman broke the track record at Doncaster on his second run followed by a victory in the Listed Garrowby Stakes at York.
Starman returned the following year with an impressive win in the Group 2 Duke Of York Stakes at York before breaking through at top level with a clear-cut success in the Group 1 July Cup at Newmarket.
He also ran third in the Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville, and was then beaten just a short head in Group 1 Betfair Sprint Cup at Haydock.
As the winner of five races and earnings of over £476,000 in prize-money, Starman retired to stud as the top-rated sprinter in Europe.

Accordingly, he was crowned the CARTIER CHAMPION SPRINTER OF 2021.

Starman was extremely popular in his first season at stud with a full book of mares.
His first yearlings caught the imagination at auction in 2024 while his breezers have already sold for up to 360,000gns.

He is already off the mark thanks to his very first runner, LADY IMAN, who was the impressive winner of her debut at Dundalk in late March before landing the Listed First Flier Stakes at the Curragh. From there, she captured the G3 Blackbeard Stakes at Naas, outbattling the Starman filly GREEN SENSE to leads home a one-two for the sire.

''He's going to Tally-Ho and I know them well. My first horse was by Kodiac and I feel he's going to the right place. I feel proud and blessed to have bred him and hopefully it's just the next chapter for him."
