PROFILE

EUROPE'S CHAMPION SECOND-CROP SIRE IN 2021

EUROPE'S CHAMPION FIRST-CROP SIRE IN 2020

Mehmas was a top class two-year-old.

He won four races as a juvenile and was never out of the first three in all of his starts.

His first two wins were followed by victories in Gr.2 Richmond Stakes (6f), beating Gr.1 winner Blue Point, and the Gr.2 July Stakes (6f).

He was a trainer's horse, and won the admiration of his handler Richard Hannon by showing his class, toughness and a willing attitude every time he ran.

He has made an electric start to his career at stud with the likes of the Gr.1 Middle Park Stakes and Gr.2 Richmond Stakes winner SUPREMACY, top Gr. 1-winning filly GOING GLOBAL, G1-winning miler CHEZ PIERRE, and back-to-back Gr. 2 Gimcrack Stakes winners MINZAAL (later winner of the G1 Betfair Sprint Cup as a 4yo) and LUSAIL, alongside other top-class 2yos CATURRA and PERSIAN FORCE.

PERSIAN FORCE now stands alongside his sire at Tally-Ho Stud.

He is enjoying another phenomenal season in 2024 as the sire of 50 2yo winners  - and counting! - including the G1 Vincent O'Brien National Stakes winner SCORTHY CHAMP, G1 Prix Marcel Boussac heroine VERTICAL LADY and G2 Flying Childers Stakes hero AESTERIUS.

Mehmas is a brilliant source of 2yos but it is also worth noting that G1 winners CHEZ PIERRE, GOING GLOBAL and MINZAAL have been best as older horses.

Not just a turf sire, Mehmas has also been represented by a multiple stakes-winning sprinter on dirt in COLOUR UP.

2yos of 2024 in demand, selling for £380,000, £360,000, £350,000 etc

"It's his statistics with his 2yos that are really off the charts" TDN 13/06/24

''I just love this horse. He's a nice moving horse and has a lovely attitude. He's a professional, has a lot of class, a big heart and is very tough, you can't ask more than that''''
