Mehmas added yet another winner to his impressive record on Tuesday when Blissful Song broke her maiden at Southwell.
Making her third start for Ollie Pears, the filly was always close up under Ben Robinson and showed a game attitude to run down High Security and get up close home.
Blissful Song was bought for £44,000 by Ollie Pears and owner Nic Brereton at last year's Tattersalls Ireland Goresbridge Sale out of the draft of her breeder Hyde Park Stud. She is a half-sister to several winners and out of the winning Kummel Excess, by Exceed And Excel.
Mehmas now boasts a collection of 59 first-crop winners headed by the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes hero Supremacy. Only last Saturday in California he featured as the sire of the first and third home in the China Doll Stakes - Going Global and Quattroelle.
