Brilliant run by Valiant Force at the Breeders' Cup

Valiant Force, who gave us all a day to remember earlier in the year when successful in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot, turned in a brilliant display at the Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita on Friday to run a fast-finishing second in the Juvenile Turf Sprint.

Drawn wide in nine, Valiant Force had to sit out the back under William Buick but came flying home on the outside to fall short to the winner Big Evs by a rapidly diminishing half-length.

Valiant Force was bred by Ramonn Horta Rangel & Spendthrift Farm out of the Quality Road mare Vigui's Heart. By the late Spendthrift stallion Malibu Moon, he was a $100,000 Keeneland September yearling purchase by Roger and Robson.
