The admirable Spycatcher romped in Monday's Gr.3 Prix de Seine-et-Oise at Chantilly, leading home Navassa Island to head a Tally-Ho breezer 1-2 in the valuable 6f event.
Bought by John and Jake Warren from us on behalf of Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, the seven-year-old Vadamos gelding now boasts eight wins for Karl Burke; in addition to Monday's Gr.3 success, they include the Group 3 Prix de Meautry, Group 3 Prix de Ris-Orangis and this season's Listed Cammidge Trophy. He was also beaten only a short head in the 2023 Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest.
Spycatcher was sold by us at the 2020 Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale (pictured below under Robson Aguiar). Three years later at the same sale, we sold Navassa Island, a Territories half-sister to our star breeze-up graduate Lezoo. Already Group 3-placed, she turned in a personal best on Monday for Michael O'Callaghan and owner John Fleming by running second.
