Back-to-back wins for Mehmas filly Queens Carriage

Queens Carriage made it back-to-back wins at Dundalk on Friday to become the 4th winner of the week for Mehmas, the dominant leading first-crop sire of 2020.

Previously successful over 6f in November for trainer Kevin Thomas Coleman, Queens Carriage made light of the drop back to the minimum trip to bounce out and make all for an unchallenged three-and-a-quarter length victory.

The filly was bred by Old Carhue Stud out of Mimiteh, a winning Maria's Mon half-sister to Cheveley Park Stakes heroine Rosdhu Queen. She was a €16,000 yearling purchase by Slieve Brook House Stud at the Goffs Sportsmans Sale.

With 54 winners to his credit, Mehmas is out on his own among the first-crop sires of 2020. There is also plenty of quality among that 54 thanks to a collection of stakes winners that consists of the unbeaten Group 1 Middle Park Stakes hero Supremacy, easy Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes winner Minzaal and the Listed scorers Acklam Express and Method.

Mehmas will stand for €25,000 in 2021.
