Eighth stakes success for Kodiac's win machine Aphelios

Kodiac's champion Scandinavian sprinter Aphelios continues to carry all before him for Annike Bye Hansen, with yet another stakes win coming his way on Sunday in the Listed Polar Cup at Ovreroll.

Previously successful in the Listed Zawawi Sprint Cup at Klampenborg, the six-year-old made it back-to-back wins in the 6f event, scoring by nearly four lengths from Youonlyliveonce.

It was an eighth stakes win for Aphelios, who joined owners Hasby Vast when bought by Walter Buick at the 2023 Autumn Horses In Training Sale. Bred by Kingwood Stud, he is out of the Singspiel mare Homily.
