Good Guess again in demand at Tatts Somerville

A successful Tattersalls Somerville Sale in Newmarket on Wednesday featured a strong performance from the first crop of Good Guess to maintain the positive trend set at the earlier Arqana August and Goffs Premier Sale.

Various representatives contributed to our draft, in particular fillies out of Mollie The Moo and Moghamarah who sold for 72,000gns to Peter and Ross Doyle Bloodstock (pictured below) and 62,000gns to Highflyer Bloodstock on behalf of Phil Cunningham. We also sold a colt out of Wall Of Sapphire for 52,000gns to Hamish Macauley.

Dwayne Woods, Karl Burke and Kerri Radcliffe were among the other buyers to come away with yearling by Good Guess.

It was also a good sale for Mehmas thanks to the sale of our homebred colt out of Naqrah for 150,000gns to Rabbah Bloodstock and filly out of Cowichan for 85,000gns to Blandford Bloodstock.

George Boughey will take charge of the colt on behalf of Jaber Abdullah. "He is a nice colt, perfect for this sort of sale," said Boughey. "He is forward, ready to rock on with early, and, hopefully, he can emulate his half-sister who did so well [Gr.1 American Oaks winner Lady Prancealot]. He is pretty typical of the sire and behaved beautifully up here. We saw him a couple of times in the yard and we are delighted to get him."

Kodiac's representatives included our homebred colt out of Comical who made 80,000gns to Oliver St Lawrence on behalf of Mark Usher while Starman's draft included our filly out of Wild Place who made 75,000gns to Megan Nicholls.

"You can't go too far wrong with a Starman filly at the moment, can you?" said Megan Nicholls "I'm a big fan of Starman, and it was no harm seeing Venetian Sun do so well on the track this year, that's for sure.

"I really liked her. She just looked very straightforward, which is a trait of the sire. She has good size and the scope to go on after her two-year-old season. And she is just a really fluid mover, and I liked her on every show."

Amo Racing also struck at 42,000gns for our Persian Force colt out of Stormy Clouds.
