Kodiac's win machine Aphelios strikes again

Kodiac's champion Scandinavian sprinter Aphelios added yet another stakes success to his record on Saturday when striking in the Listed Zawawi Sprint Cup at Klampenborg for Annike Bye Hansen.

The six-year-old, who claimed almost all before him last year, travelled well throughout and powered clear inside the closing stages to score from Great Wish.

It was a seventh Listed win for Aphelios, who joined owners Hasby Vast when bought by Walter Buick at the 2023 Autumn Horses In Training Sale. Bred by Kingwood Stud, he is out of the Singspiel mare Homily.
