Mehmas in demand at Tatts

A Mehmas colt out of Cheworee was one of the star acts of the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze-Up Sale in Newmarket on Friday, maintaining his sire's excellent breeze-up run by selling for 105,000gns.

David Redvers outbid online interests for the colt, who was sold by Nanallac Stud. He is a brother to dual winner Chemeh and out of Cheworee, a triple-winning half-sister to Flying Childers Stakes runner-up Astrophysics.

"He will be trained in Newmarket," said Redvers. "Sheikh Fahad [who lives in Newmarket] wants to see him trained locally and close by. The horse did a very good time, he is by a very good sire and he is a lovely model, it is a great touch for the vendor. "

It was also a good day at the sales for Cotai Glory, who hit a high note as the sire of a colt who made 80,000gns to Jedd O'Keeffe. He is a half-brother to Listed winner Chiara Wells and out of Docklands Grace, a placed daughter of Honour And Glory.

The colt was the highlight of the Tally-Ho draft and we wish all purchasers the best of luck with them.
