Just over a week on from Venetian Sun's win in the Group 2 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes and Starman was in the news again, this time as the sire of Group 2 Prix Robert Papin winner Green Sense.

The only filly in the competitive field, Green Sense was held up by Maxime Guyon and having been produced down the outer to take up the running, had enough in reserve to repel Super Soldier.

Trained by Joseph O'Brien for Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, Green Sense was the impressive winner of her debut at the Curragh prior to running an excellent second to Lady Iman, also by Starman, in the Group 3 Coolmore Stud Irish EBF Blackbeard Fillies Stakes at Naas. She was bred by Nicky Hartery out of the Street Sense mare Big Boned, also dam of the talented Kodiac filly K Club.

"She's a good filly and really easy to ride," said Guyon. "Joseph said if we could follow one horse that would help as she has a good turn of foot. We didn't know about the track because the ground is a little bit soft today but she did it well. She can win maybe a Group 1."

Asked if he would like to ride her in the Group 1 Prix Morny, he replied: "Yes, of course!"

Green Sense continues an outstanding run for Europe's leading first-crop sire Starman. Indeed, her win pushes him past the £500,000 earnings mark.

Green Sense, Venetian Sun and Lady Iman head a group of 16 winners in Europe. Others include the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes runner-up Flowerhead, the Listed-placed Moonage Daydream and North Coast, last week's impressive Newmarket maiden winner Orion's Belt and the well-regarded Star Of Sapphire, Gold Digger and Lebron Power.
