New stakes winner for Mehmas

Mehmas was represented by yet another 2yo stakes winner on Sunday when Victorious Forever's Gaga Mate made a successful raid on the Group 3 Gran Criterium at San Siro in Italy.

The George Scott-trained colt ran down the leader Zuender to win going away by nearly two lengths to become the 46th stakes winner for his sire.

In the process, Gaga Mate took his earnings to over £130,000.

Gaga Mate was bred by John Connaughton out of the winning Truth Prevails, a Siyouni relation to Postponed.

He becomes the fourth 2yo stakes winner of the year for Mehmas and seventh overall for 2025 - others include the Tally-Ho bred Group 1 Middle Park Stakes winner Wise Approach.
