Starman's excellent run continued on Saturday as his daughter, the Tally-Ho bred Leading Dancer, took the Listed Radley Stakes to cap a quickfire double for the stallion at Newbury.

Previously the easy winner of a maiden at Newcastle, the Karl Burke-trained filly showed plenty of determination to overcome the runner-up Caim and score by half a length for Teme Valley and Austin Whelan.

Leading Dancer was purchased by Richard Ryan from our draft at last year's Tattersalls Somerville Sale. She was bred by us out of the Makfi mare Get Up And Dance.

"Leading Dancer has a really good attitude," said jockey William Buick. "She's quite a big 2yo so you'd imagine a winter on her back will do her the world of good.

"It's tough going out there and she showed a lot of grit. Her talent got her through - I don't think she really enjoyed the ground but she has the talent and the attitude to go with it."

Leading Dancer becomes the fifth stakes winner for Starman, Europe's dominant leading first-crop sire. Karl Burke also trains his top-class daughter Venetian Sun, winner of the Group 1 Prix Morny and Group 3 Albany Stakes. Starman is also sire of Group 2 Prix Robert Papin winner Green Sense and the Group 3 winners Lady Iman and North Coast.

Her win came hot on the heels of Lebron Power's game win in the 6f nursery to cap a good day for Starman. The Richard Hannon-trained filly, who races for her breeder King Power Racing, was winning for the third time.
