The Mehmas bandwagon rolled on to Epsom on Friday as Maximized, a Tally-Ho breezer, made it two from two for Godolphin in the Woodcote Stakes.
Bought by Godolphin from us at the Goffs Breeze-Up Sale in Doncaster, Maximized was the impressive winner of his debut at Haydock and duly lined up as the 6/5 favourite. Always prominent under William Buick, he led inside the final furlong and ran on for a length and a half success over Havana Hurricane.
"Once Willie asked him he put the race to bed," said trainer Charlie Appleby. "The ground conditions are different to what he encountered at Haydock, and I would say probably better on a sounder surface. He's a slick horse.
"He's a breeze-up horse, he won impressively the first day and he did the job today. Persoanlly I'd like to look at something like the July Stakes now."
Maximized continues a great run for Mehmas who has also been represented in recent days by Zelaina, who was named a TDN Rising Star with her debut victory at Nottingham, Ajfan, who won on debut at Chantilly, and Ameeq, who also scored at Nottingham.
Bred by Cheveley Park Stud, Maximized is out of Boost, a Pivotal daughter of champion 2yo Hooray.
