Many congratulations to Maurice Regan's Newtownanner Stud and trainer Ger Lyons on the win of Chantez in the Group 3 Tally-Ho Stud Irish EBF Ballyogan Stakes at Naas on Sunday.

The four-year-old Wootton Bassett filly powered up the rail under Gary Carroll to deny David Ward's Starman filly Soul Love by half-a-length.

"I think this set-up, a stiff six, suits her well," said PJ Colville, racing manager to Newtownanner Stud. "The last day she did everything right, but she just needs to get into the rhythm of the sprinting division.

“She was sharp today and got a good set-up, so we’re delighted.

“She does stay a bit further and I think the finish here suits her, the stiff six is ideal.”

Also at Naas, Steel Magnolia took the Big Evs at Tally-Ho Handicap to hand trainer Willie McCreery - also his owner-breeder - a double following the impressive debut win of our own filly, Timeless Tale, in the 6f maiden.
