Wild Majesty becomes latest stakes winner for Kodiac

A good week for Kodiac continued at Deauville on Thursday with the success of Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum's Wild Majesty in the Listed Prix Cavalassur - Prix du Cercle.

Previously successful at Vichy, Wild Majesty stepped up on that to record a career high, making smooth progress to challenge on the bridle entering the final furlong before easing clear.

"I've always loved the horse, I'm glad we kept him in training as a 4-year-old and I was convinced that he would be capable of great things once he learnt how to settle," said winning trainer Henri-Francois Devin. "He needs a fast pace to travel comfortably without being keen and I am not surprised the time of the race is fast. We will now go to the Group 3 [Pix du Petit Couvert] at Longchamp in September."

Bred by Rabbah Bloodstock, Wild Majesty is a brother to multiple stakes winner Frenetic, an exceptionally fast filly for Ger Lyons. Also a half-brother to American stakes winner Big Handsom, they are out of Moojha, a winning daughter of Forest Wildcat.

Wild Majesty, who was a 400,000gns yearling purchase, now boasts three wins and becomes the 69th stakes winner for Kodiac.

His win came on the same day that Kodiac was also represented by the progressive handicap winners Aquaman, also owned by Sheikh Obaid, and Desert Gulf.
