What could be an important few days for Starman opened in good style on Wednesday as the Tally-Ho bred Ruby's Angel opened her account for Roudee Racing and Hugo Palmer in the £100,000 nursery at York's Ebor meeting.
A traditionally competitive event, it was won in the dying strides by Ruby's Angel, who ran down the leader Mo Of Cairo to land a deserved success following placed efforts in each of her previous starts.
Her win formed the second leg of a quickfire double for Starman, whose daughter Houdini Miss had struck in the nursery at Kempton just five minutes before.
Ruby's Angel is out of the Listed-placed Angel Meadow and was bought by Ed Sackville and Manor House Stables out of our draft at Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Sale.
Starman is represented in Friday's Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes by our multiple Group 3 winner Lady Iman. She is one of the stars out of Starman's first crop alongside unbeaten Group 2 scorer Venetian Sun and Group 3 winner North Coast, who could line up in Saturday's Group 2 Futurity Stakes at the Curragh.
