Mehmas carried all before him on Monday, firing in three new debut winners to take his current juvenile tally for the year to 17.

At Killarney, City Of Dubai came with a withering run to deny Francillon and the more experienced favourite Oklahoma to make a winning debut in the colours of Bond Thoroughbreds Ltd. That particular maiden boasts a storied history, having been won in recent years by Benevenuto Cellini and Anthony Van Dyck, and trainer Paddy Twomey is hopeful for the prospects of City Of Dubai, who was bred by the late John Connaughton.

"He had really come forward and he has ability and is a lovely horse," said Twomey. "There is a good history in the race and, if we can be half as good as some of the previous winners, I'd be

happy. He=s a big, scopey horse with a staying pedigree. He'll get a mile and a quarter no problem, so next year we might have a nice horse."

"He's a horse we loved in the spring, but he went a bit weak and we had to back off," said jockey Billy Lee. "He's really come to himself in the last couple of weeks. We went even and I had

plenty of horse underneath me in the straight. He'll improve for this."

Over at Windsor, Mehmas accounted for the winners of both divisions of the 6f maiden, starting with Ferrystream, who defeated the colts to make a winning debut for Peter Harris and Jane Chapple-Hyam. She was bred by Ben Sangster while the winner of the second division, Real Bullet, was a first homebred winner for his co-owner Sheikh Duaij Al Khalifa, who owns the colt in partnership with Hasan Alajmi. Real Bullet showed a typically game Mehmas attitude to wear down the more experienced Note To Self by a head with the pair well clear of the third.

"I'd like to think she's black-type filly," said Jane Chapple-Hyam of Ferrystream. "We'll go six again for the experience and then we'll step her up to seven."
