12th stakes win for Kodiac's Aphelios

Top Scandinavian sprinter Aphelios made it three Listed Polar Cup victories in a row at Ovreroll on Tuesday, landing his 12th stakes win in the process.

Kodiac's win machine, who is a credit to owners Hasby Vast and trainer Annike Bye Hansen,was comfortably on top at the line, prevailing by a length and a quarter over Ides Of March. It was his third stakes win of the year following his success in the Listed Pramms Memorial and Challenge Stakes.

Aphelios joined current connections when bought by Walter Buick at the 2023 Autumn Horses In Training Sale.

He was particularly successful in 2025 when his wins included the Listed Pramms Memorial, Polar Cup, Bro Park Varsptint and Zawawi Cup.

Bred by Kingwood Stud, he is out of the Singspiel mare Homily.
