Venetian Sun, bred and sold by Tally-Ho Stud, became the latest representative from Starman's first crop to announce herself as a Royal Ascot hope when landing her debut, a Class 2 novice, at 'A beautiful filly - one for the Albany' - Royal Ascot hopes for Starman's latest winner at Carlisle on Monday.

Carrying the colours of Tony Bloom and Ian McAleavy, the Karl-Burke-trained filly justified odds-on favouritism to win by a length-and-a-half.

"She's a beautiful filly," said Karl Burke. "She's been working very well and it's first time she's been off the bridle so there'll be loads of improvement. If she goes to Royal Ascot, it'll be for the Albany. Cliff gave her a lovely ride and said she hit the front too soon she did it so easily. I'd say it was a good race for the grade."

Venetian Sun's win comes hot off the heels of Lady Iman's victory in the Group 3 Blackbeard Stakes at Naas. Lady Iman, who beat Green Sense to lead home a one-two for Starman, is also Royal Ascot bound. Other exciting winners for Starman include the aforementioned Green Sense and Yarmouth debut winner Gold Digger.

Venetian Sun becomes the third winner from as many foals out of the Listed-placed Iffraaj mare Johara. She was sold by us for 240,000gns to Todd Investments at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Sale.
