Breakthrough Listed win for Mehmas filly Saratoga Special

Mehmas filly Saratoga Special took another step forward at Ayr on Saturday when landing the Listed Land O'Burns Stakes.

Highly tried this season since winning her maiden at Cork, the Jessica Harrington-trained filly came with a strong run under Keithen Kennedy to storm through horses and hold off First Instinct to win cosy fashion.

Saratoga Special was bred by David Byrne and Pierce Molony out of the Dandy Man mare Chiclet, whose first foal is the stakes-winning Mehmas gelding Turn On The Jets.

She becomes the 43rd stakes winner for Mehmas and the 13th to emerge out of his 2022 crop.
