Cotai Glory is Europe's leading first-crop sire! Exceptional first season for Galileo Gold

With the winners of just shy of £800,000, Cotai Glory has ended 2021 as Europe's leading first-crop sire by prize-money. A tally of 35 winners also sees him reign by number of winners as well while his winners to runners ratio of 40% is unmatched in Britain and Ireland.

An exceptional first crop was headlined by eight stakes horses, namely:

ATOMIC FORCE: Prix Robert Papin, Chantilly, Gr.2, Prix du Bois, Chantilly, Gr.3

PURCIARETTA: Premio Divino Amore, Rome, Listed

Eldrickjones: 2nd Coventry Stakes, Ascot, Gr.2

Pearl Glory: 2nd Dick Poole Stakes, Salisbury, Gr.3

Ask My Glory: 2nd Premio Criterium Nazionale, Rome, Listed

King X J: 2nd Star Appeal Stakes, Dundalk, Listed

Dig Two: 2nd Windsor Castle Stakes, Ascot, Listed

Sophie's Star: 3rd Marwell Stakes, Naas, Listed

Cotai Glory stands the 2022 season for €8,500.

Galileo Gold also enjoyed an exceptional season with his first runners.

He was the first freshman stallion to sire a Group 1 winner when the Tally-Ho-bred Ebro River won the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh and ends the year with six black-type horses to his credit. He boasts the winners of £500,000, making him a top four European first-crop sire.

Galileo Gold's array of black-type performers consist of:

EBRO RIVER: Phoenix Stakes, Curragh, Gr.1, National Stakes, Sandown, Listed, 3rd National Stakes, Curragh, Gr.1 (pictured below)

OSCULA: Prix Six Perfections, Deauville, Gr.3, 3rd Prix Marcel Boussac, Longchamp, Gr.1, Rockfel Stakes, Newmarket, Gr.2, Prix du Calvados, Deauville, Gr.2, Albany Stakes, Ascot, Gr.3

SYSTEM: Empress Stakes, Newmarket, Listed

Hellomydarlin: 2nd Champion 2yo Trophy, Ripon, Listed, Prix Zeddaan, Deauville, Listed, 3rd Prix Robert Papin, Chantilly, Gr.2

The Wizard of Eye: 3rd Prix François Boutin, Deauville, Gr.3

Goldana: 3rd Grosser Preis der Mehl-Muelhens-Stiftung, Hannover, Listed

Galileo Gold was an excellent two-year-old, but of course, he also went on to win the 2,000 Guineas and St Palace Stakes at three as well, so there should be plenty to look forward to with his first three-year-olds in 2022.

Galileo Gold stands for €7,000.

Many thanks to everyone who supported us in 2021 and we wish you the best of luck in 2022.
