Another day - another new stakes winner and another new two-year-old winner for Mehmas! An unbelievable week for him continued on Thursday as Diego Ventura landed the Listed Prix de Pontarme at Longchamp not long after First Legion had made a sparkling winning debut over 6f at York.

Both are graduates of our breeze-up arm - indeed, First Legion is our second winning breezer out of this year's Tattersalls Craven Sale in as many days after the Starman filly Gold Digger.

First Legion, out of Navette, was bought from us by Dullingham and races for Zhang Yuesheng with trainer Richard Hannon. His win followed on the heels of that of Ballistic Missile, another by Mehmas, for the same connections during the previous day's racing at York.

"First Legion had breezed very well and was bought with a big reputation," said jockey Shane Foley. "He was a little bit keen in the middle of the race, but he picked up good. He came from a good breeze-up place and he'll improve on good, fast ground."

Over at Longchamp, Diego Ventura ran out of the brave winner of the Listed Prix de Pontarme. Another Tally-Ho breezer, when knocked down to Kevin Ross and Gavin Cromwell at last year's Tattersalls Ireland Breeze-Up, he was Group 3 and Listed-placed on several occasions for Wathnan Racing and Hamad Al Jehani last season.

He becoems the 42nd stakes winner for Mehmas - the 41st arrived only 24 hours before in France courtesy of Imperial Me Cen's victory in the Listed Prix des Reves d'Or at Vichy.

He was bred by Sean Ronan and Caroline Hanly out of the Kodiac mare Leoube and therefore bred on the same cross as Believing.
