A fine summer for Mehmas continued on Saturday as progressive 3yo sprinter How Are You landed the Listed Prix Kistena at Deauville for Ecurie Ama Zingteam and Francis-Henri Graffard.

The colt was appropriately bred by Ringfort Stud and is a brother to Mehmas' standout representative Minzaal; he sired his first stakes winner on the same Deauville card courtesy of Crownbreaker, successful in the Listed Prix Yacowlef.

Previously runner-up in the Listed Prix Marchand d'Or, How About You took another step forward on Saturday to win convincingly by two lengths.

"It was only his fourth outing, and he enjoyed an ideal run," said Francis-Henri Graffard. "He had already shown good acceleration in his previous two races before shortening stride late on.

"Today, everything went perfectly. He is still learning the ropes, but we saw that he won with something in hand. We will now look at the schedule; a Group 3 race over 1,200m for three-year-olds is a logical option. In time, he might stay a bit further, but his brother was a genuine sprinter, and he too seems built for speed. So, there is no real reason to step him up in distance if we can find the right races over 1,200m."

How Are You was bred by Ringfort Stud out of Pardoven, by Clodovil. He joins Botagoz, Bellarchi and Estepona as recent stakes winners for Mehmas.
