Gr.1 Prix de la Foret winner Maranoa Charlie has had his first mares scanned in foal.

Among the mares carrying to the Prix de la Foret hero are Soft Power, the dam of Group 1-winning juvenile and young sire Ebro River and Bisous Y Besos, the dam of multiple Group scorer and Group 1-placed Oscula.

Also in foal to Maranoa Charlie are Eliza Bennet, a half-sister to last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint runner-up Brussels, and Lady Aria, the dam of Group winners Lady Iman and West Acre.

Others include Tuileries Garden, the dam of last year's Queen Mary Stakes runner-up Flowerhead, Lady Willpower, a half-sister to Group winner and Irish 1,000 Guineas runner-up Ardbrae Lady, and the dual juvenile scorer Blue Zodiac.

The Gr.1-placed stakes winner Miss You Too, dam of multiple Group winner Terms Of Endearment, is another notable mare in foal, alongside Je T’Adore, the dam of Grade 1 winners A Wave Of The Sea and Hello Neighbour, and Edith Wilson, a half-sister to Group-winning juvenile Little Kim.

Maranoa Charlie was a top-class performer at two and three for Christopher Head, winning his first three starts as a juvenile including the Group 3 Prix Thomas Bryon by eight lengths. He returned to action the following spring making all to take the G3 Prix Djebel on his seasonal debut before a similar all-the-way win in the G3 Prix Paul de Moussac.

He was beaten only a short neck when second in the G1 Prix Jean Prat, ahead of G1 performers such as The Lion In Winter and Shadow Of Light, and ran another fine race when third, beaten under a length, on good to firm in the G1 City Of York Stakes at York. That preceded his impressive win in the G1 Prix de la Foret where he again dominated from the front.

Maranoa Charlie offers access into the Wootton Bassett sire line, a strong influence for class, versatility and juvenile talent. He is out of the winning Galileo mare Koubalibre, a half-sister to Champion 2YO filly Tiggy Wiggy, winner of the Gr.1 Cheveley Park Stakes.
