A strong run for Kessaar continued to Wednesday evening as Disdainful (pictured below as a two-year-old) made an impressive winning debut for Hugo Palmer at Ffos Las.
A Tally-Ho yearling graduate, Disdainful was well found in the market and having travelling well, made a sweeping more down the near side of the field to win going away.
Disdainful is a half-brother to several winners and was bred by T Higgins out of Shallow Lake, a Bernardini half-sister to Albany Stakes winner Newfangled.
His win follows hot on the heels of Molly Weasley, who broke her maiden by a wide margin at Clairefontaine, and Tostado and Evening's Empire, who provided Kessaar, with a good across-the-card double ten days ago. Not only that, his winning daughter Ipanema Princess ran a great race to finish third in the Group 3 Prix Six Perfections at Deauville.
Other impressive first-crop winners for Kessaar include Tajalla, who made an excellent winning debut at Newmarket's Craven meeting, Bolt Action, a debut winner at Leicester prior to a creditable run at Royal Ascot, and Forca Timao, who lived up to expectations with a good win in a smart-looking maiden at Doncaster.
