Impressive Newbury winner for Galileo Gold

Galileo Gold fired in yet another winner on Thursday in The Wizard Of Eye, who was impressive in victory for Stan Moore in a competitive 6f maiden at Newbury.

Always prominent, the colt bounded clear under John Egan to win by three-and-a-half lengths.

The Racing Post was complimentary, saying: “The Wizard Of Eye, third over 6f at Salisbury on debut, still looked a little inexperienced but impressed with the way he pulled clear late.”

The Wizard Of Eye was bred by Michael Phelan of Pipe View Stud out of Prom Dress, by Mount Nelson.

Galileo Gold is Europe’s leading first-crop sire by number of stakes winners thanks to the Listed successes of Ebro River and System. Another representative, Oscula, was third in the Group 3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot.
