Many congratulations to Anthony Clarke and trainer Noel Meade on the win of Tally-Ho breezer Caught U Sleeping in the Listed Naas Oaks Trial on Saturday.
The daughter of Cotai Glory, who was bred by us and sold as one of our breezers at last year's Tattersalls Ireland Breeze-Up Sale to Jones Bloodstock, won by three-quarters of a length from the Mehmas filly La Fogata to bring her record to two wins from just six starts. She's also Listed-placed.
Noel Meade said: "Tony O'Callaghan owns most of her with Tony Clarke and, last Monday when she ran at the Curragh, I was coming back and he said 'what do you think?' and, I said, 'to be honest with you Tony, I was nearly going to run her next Saturday instead of running her over a mile because I think a mile is too short' and he said 'do you really think that?' and, I said 'I do but I'd feel like a fool if I ran her over the mile-and-a-quarter and she didn't get it'. He said that I should go and run her again, that he wouldn't stop me.
"Colin said she'll get a mile-and-a-half. He said that's what she wants. She's short of a gear but she keeps going well. She just doesn't quicken up that well but she can keep up a good gallop. Anyway, I'm delighted with her. Thrilled."
Caught U Sleeping is out of the New Approach mare Parasail, a half-sister to the high-class West Wind Blows.
Don't miss our draft at next week's Tattersalls Ireland Breeze-Up Sale.
