Mehmas hits 53 winners for the year

Another day, another winner for Mehmas.

Demonstrating the determination that has come to be associated with Mehmas's progeny, Mutahamisa ran down Touchwood to win the 7f novice stakes at Kempton Park on Wednesday. At the line, the Roger Varian-trained filly had a length-and-a-spare to spare over her rival.

In the process, she becomes the 53rd winner for her brilliant young sire.

Mutahamisa was bred in Ireland by Cn Farm Ltd out of Il Palazzo, a daughter of Giant's Causeway who also the dam of Listed winner Still Standing.

Mutahamisa was bought for 42,000gns by Corbin Blumberg as a foal and resold for 75,000gns to Roger Varian/Ebonos as a Tattersalls October Book 1 yearling.

Mehmas's outstanding season includes several two-year-olds out of the top drawer, notably the Gr.1 Middle Park Stakes hero Supremacy, Gr.2 Gimcrack Stakes winner Minzaal and Listed scorers Acklam Express and Method.

The dual Group 2-winning son of Acclamation will stand for €25,000 in 2021.
