Glamis Road ran out the easy winner of the Listed Prix Herod at Saint-Cloud on Sunday to become the latest stakes winner - the 102nd - to be exact for our stalwart Kodiac.
Successful on debut at Doncaster for Ollie Sangster, Nick Bradley’s filly later acquitted herself well when fourth in the Group 3 Prix Miesque. She stepped up again on Sunday to run out the near two-length winner.
“We had the feeling that she had been unlucky in the Miesque,” said Ollie Sangster. “She was in good form today. Her jockey rode her simply by going forward. And she won convincingly.
“I don't know yet what the owners' plans are with her, but I think she has finished her season. I can see her going down the path of the classic preparatory races, perhaps in France, perhaps in England. So why not aim for a preparatory race for the Poule. She travels well and behaves well in France.”
Glamis Road contributes to another good season for Kodiac, whose 2yo crop is highlighted by the Group 1-winning filly Babouche. She was bred by Rory O’Brien out of the Raven’s Pass mare Pass The Moon and most recently sold at the Goffs Breeze-Up Sale to her trainer.
Kodiac will stand for €25,000 in 2025.
