New winner for Persian Force as Topaz impresses at Salisbury

Another day, another winner for leading first-crop sire Persian Force. 24 hours on from Keep Kicking On's success at Windsor, Highclere Thoroughbred Racing's exciting filly Topaz - sold by us at last year's Tattersalls Somerville Sale - justified favouritism to get off the mark in the 6f novice at Salisbury.

Billy Loughnane kept it simple on the Jack Channon-trained filly, bouncing out to make all for a two-length win.

"She had a good level of form going into it, she hasn't run a bad race yet," said Billy Loughnane of the filly who was deemed good enough to take her chance in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot. "She did the donkey work on the front end, she was still raw and I think there's plenty more to come."

Topaz, who was bred by Colm McEvoy out of the winning Lawman mare Wall Of Sapphire, becomes the 14th winner for Persian Force. He boasts a quality group of representatives led by the stakes-placed pair Immortal Guard and What A Girl Wants.
