Tally-Ho bred Starman filly Venetian Sun extended her unbeaten record with a success in the Group 2 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket on Friday.

Fresh from a win in the Group 3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot, the Karl Burke-trained filly was always in control under Clifford Lee to win cosily and prompt thoughts of a crack at the Group 1 Prix Morny.

"We decided to enter her for this only last week as she had no issues after Ascot, and she's done well considering she was in front for a while," said Karl Burke. "I must say she's a league above Dandalla and is so laid-back, she was bombproof in the prelims today.

"I'd say she's a lot quicker than our other good fillies like Fallen Angel and Laurens, and hopefully can have a productive autumn.

"I would think the Lowther would be out after that as she's won a Group 2. She's in the Morny, so we'll have a look at that, and going forward I'd say the Moyglare Stud Stakes could also be in the mix. She's a miler at least and also a three-year-old type."

Venetian Sun is currently a 12/1 shot for next year's 1,000 Guineas.

Todd Investments purchased Venetian Sun, who carries the colours of Tony Bloom and Ian McAleavy, out of our draft at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Sale. She is out of the Iffraaj mare Johara and a half-sister to the smart Sir Yoshi.

She continues the brilliant start made by Starman, also responsible for Group 3 winner Lady Iman.
