Fresh from supplying the top lot at the Goffs Breeze-Up Sale, Mehmas was back in the spotlight again on Thursday thanks to Synaran, the Aga Khan Studs' homebred winner of the Listed Prix du Pont Neuf over 7f at Longchamp.
Synaran justified favouritism to land the 16-runner event in cosy fashion for Francis-Henri Graffard by three-quarters of a length from Kozlovskha and become the 49th stakes winner for Mehmas. He is the sixth to emerge out of his 2022 crop, a group which is led by last year's Group 1 Middle Park Stakes winner Wise Approach and recent Group 3 Prix Djebel scorer Afandy.
Synaran was bred by the Aga Khan Studs out of the Invincible Spirit mare Syrdarya, a half-sister to Group 1 winner Siyarafina from the family of Siyouni.
He now boasts three wins from five starts and is two from two for the year.
