Many congratulations to owner Chelsea Srls and trainer Endo Botti on the victory of Melfi in the Premio Parioli, the Italian 2,000 Guineas. By our former resident Kessaar (pictured), Melfi was bred here at Tally-Ho and sold through our draft at the 2022 Tattersalls Ireland September Sale to Razza Latino.
Melfi was a high-class performer last season at two when successful in the Listed Premio Vittorio Riva and Premio 54 Criterium de Pisa.
He was again partnered by Dario di Tocco on Sunday and having taken it up a furlong and a half out, was always doing enough to hold the runner-up Maturlo.
Melfi is out of Miss Purity Pinker, an One Cool Cat half-sister to Kodiac's Listed winner Azzeccagarbugli.
