Another day, another 2yo winner for Mehmas. And as with last week's impressive York debut scorer First Legion, the horse in question - Thursday's Haydock Park debut winner Maximized - was a Tally-Ho breezer, in his case when sold only last month at the Goffs Breeze-Up Sale in Doncaster to Godolphin.

Alertly away under David Probert for the 6f contest, Maximized showed a striking turn of foot to poach a lead over his rivals and was never under serious pressure to win unchallenged from his stablemate Time To Turn.

In the process, he was named a 'TDN Rising Star' and became our 3rd winning 2yo breezer of the year after Gold Digger (at Yarmouth) and First Legion (at York).

Wednesday's action was highlighted by the impressive debut win of Underwriter, another Mehmas breezer, at Ayr and Maximized is likely to join that colt by heading next to Royal Ascot.

"Bookmakers sought to cut him for the Coventry, Norfolk and Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot and wherever he heads next, he'll surely be a force," wrote the Racing Post.

Maximized was bred by Cheveley Park Stud out of Boost, a Pivotal daughter of champion 2yo filly Hooray. He was pinhooked as a yearling by us through Blandford Bloodstock.
