Tally-Ho breezer Wild Blossom impresses in Alice Keppel

Also at Goodwood on Wednesday, the Tally-Ho bred and breezed Wild Blossom turned in an impressive display to take the EBF Alice Keppel Conditions Stakes, showing a bright turn of speed to land the 6f race by a length-and-a-half under James Doyle.

The race has a rich history of producing smart winners - indeed recent scorers include fellow Tally-Ho breezer The Platinum Queen, who went on to win the Prix de l'Abbaye.

The daughter of Mehmas is a graduate of our breeze-up arm, having sold at the Tattersalls Craven Sale to Richard Brown of Blandford Bloodstock on behalf of Wathnan Racing.

Trained by Karl Burke, she looked pretty special on debut when bolting up at Carlisle, after which she wasn't disgraced in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot. Wednesday's success was her second in three starts.

"Wild Blossom worked with a very good older filly and she worked very nicely [in the last week]," said Karl burke. "Just a slight concern when they do it so well first time on slow ground and then she ran very well at Ascot but the draw completely screwed her really. .

"She's a talented filly. She was very straightforward today and got into a lovely rhythm very quickly. That was the plan since Ascot. I don't know [where next], we'll look at all those Group five furlong races, she's a very quick filly. I wouldn't dismiss six furlongs, we'll see what James says, but that was the plan, there's no real future targets at the moment, the Flying Childers [at Doncaster], races like that."

One of 29 European 2yo winners so far this year for Mehmas, Wild Blossom is out of the Dream Ahead mare Duchess Rose, a half-sister to Group 1 winner and emerging sire Bayside Boy.

Mehmas was also responsible for the third home Divine Whisper.
