Many congratulations to the Coolmore partners, whose Matrika made a winning debut in the Tally-Ho Stud Irish EBF Maiden at the Curragh on Sunday.
As with Saturday's colts equivalent, the race is supported by a fine history highlighted in recent years by the subsequent Group 1 winner Albigna and high-class Kodiac filly Zarinsk, successful for Juddmonte in last year's renewal.
Matrika, who carries the colours of Mrs John Magnier, Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith and Westerberg and is trained by Aidan O'Brien, won comfortably by three-quarters of a length under Ryan Moore from Grand Job. The daughter of No Nay Never was bred by Barronstown Stud out of Muravka, making her a half-sister to Group 1-winning two-year-old The Wow Signal.
