Another brilliant day on the track on Wednesday saw Starman strengthen his hold over the first-crop sires' championship.

At Catterick, his daughter Stardinia landed the 5f maiden for Amo Racing and Raphael Freire. Not long after, Quiet Mutiny made an impressive winning debut for Gavin Cromwell in the 6f fillies' maiden.

Amo Racing's homebred Stardinia had shown a good level of form in several starts and with a battling display, gained a deserved win on Wednesday under David Egan. She is the second foal out of Sardinia Sunset, a daughter of Gutaifan who was a Listed winner for Amo Racing.

"It was a nice race to find and she had a bit of class form earlier in her career but things haven't gone her way," said David Egan. "She's got a little bit of a sore mouth and there's been little excuses - she hung the last day at Newbury so we put a line through that. Ralph [Freire, trainer] saw a good opportunity to try to get her head in front and she's a homebred so it's good to get the job done."

Over at Fairyhouse, Quiet Mutiny justified favouritism to win comfortably in the colours of Ben Halsall.

The Lowther Stakes entry was bred by Prospect Bloodstock Limited out of the winning Danehill Dancer mare Emerald Loch.

“I’m not surprised, and I suppose the market told you that as well," said Gavin Cromwell. "She’s a nice filly and hopefully can keep progressing.

“All her work has been good, and she seems to have a great mind.

“The sire is doing very well and I’m just sorry that I don’t have a few more of them!”

Starman's first crop so far included 14 winners headed by the Gr.3 Albany Stakes heroine Venetian Sun and fellow Group 3 scorer Lady Iman.
