A filly by Mehmas jointly topped the second day of Book 2 of the Goffs Orby Sale when sold to us for €135,000 on Thursday. Sold by Cahermorris Stables, she is out of Smart Flies, a winning half-sister to Group 3 winner Smash Williams (pictured below).

Starman also enjoyed a good sale, with a colt out of Kodiac Express one of the headline acts of the opening day when sold for €105,000 by Ballintry Stud to Con Marnane.

“He’s the star of the show,” said Marnane. "You can’t fault the sire, what he’s done is incredible, and every one of them has a fantastic temperament. They’re so laidback, and that’s why they’re so good.”

With yearlings also making €85,000, €60,000 and €52,000 among others, Starman returned an average of almost €52,000, over twice the overall sale average.

Persian Force's draft was headed by a colt out of Aegean Sunset who was bought by us for €58,000 from Goldenvale Stud.
