1,200,000gns Geocentric highlights strong night for Kodiac

Tough Listed winner Geocentric sold for 1,200,000gns at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale on Tuesday to headline a powerful evening in the ring for Kodiac.

Now a four-year-old, Geocentric won the Listed Legacy Stakes and Listed Midsummer Sprint Stakes for SBA Racing and trainer Ger Lyons. She was also second in the Group 3 Round Tower Stakes. She was offered in foal to Frankel and was bought by Charlie Gordon-Watson on behalf of a partnership between Watership Down Stud and the Duchess Of Roxburgh, Virginia Mary Roxburgh.

Geocentric was followed into the ring by this year's Group 2-winning daughter Relief Rally. The filly has been a star this season for Simon Munir and Isaac Souede with four victories to her name, led by the Lowther Stakes and Weatherbys Super Sprint. She was duly snapped up out of William Haggas' yard for 800,000gns by Mrs A Sullivan.

The American-based Woodford Thoroughbreds also made a bold play for Kodiac daughters, going to 725,000gns for the Listed Surrey Stakes winner Olivia Maralda and 700,000gns for the recent Listed Legacy Stakes winner Pipsy. Both were signed for by Will Walden.

Olivia Maralda was part of our breeze-up draft for 2022 - so was the Group1 Cheveley Park Stakes heroine Lezoo, who sold for 2,200,000gns to Narvick International.
