An impressive finishing kick saw AlMohamediya Racing's Adeb become the latest first-crop winner for Cotai Glory at Beverley on Saturday.
The Richard Fahey-trained youngster had shown promise when placed on his first two starts and having been settled on this occasion in mid-division by Joe Fanning, he showed a bright turn of foot to run down Final Account and win going away by close to three lengths. Another son of Cotai Glory, Pockett Rockett, ran a fine race in third.
Adeb was bred by the Highest Praise Syndicate out of the Acclamation mare Highest Praise, the dam of two other winners. He was purchased for £34,000 by Robin O'Ryan and Richard Fahey from Egmont Stud at last year's Goffs UK Premier Sale.
Cotai Glory is now the sire of 13 winners, which places him on a par with Ardad at the head of the European first-crop sires' list in terms of winners. He is also Europe's leading first-crop sires by earnings.
In addition to Adeb, his winners include Group 3 scorer Atomic Force and the stakes-placed Eldrickjones and Dig Two.
