Mehmas filly Quattroelle sells for $500,000

Fresh off an outstanding career, Mehmas filly Quattroelle commanded $500,000 from Keisuke Onishi of the JS Company at Tuesday's Fasig-Tipton November Sale in Lexington, Kentucky.

Bred by the McEnery family's Rossenarra Stud, Quattroelle is from the first crop of Mehmas and became a brilliant flag-bearer, especially following her switch to California. Sent to Philip d'Amato for Red Baron's Barn and Rancho Temescal LLC, she went on to win the Blue Norther Stakes, the Grade 3 Megahertz Stakes and Grade 2 Buena Vista Stakes.

She was also second in the Grade 1 Gamely Stakes and retires with earnings of $512,772.

Quattroelle is out of the Stormy River mare Heavenly River, also the dam of a Mehmas colt who sold for €500,000 to the Hong Kong Jockey Club at this year's Goffs Orby Sale. She is a half-sister to Listed winner Katie's Diamond, dam of this season's Temple Stakes heroine Dramatised.
