Hardy 5yo Quattroelle maintained Mehmas' excellent run in the US on Saturday when the impressive winner of the Grade 3 Megahertz Stakes at Santa Anita.

Making her 14th start, Quattroelle was caught in a pocket under Hector Berrios but once she found daylight, she showed a great turn of foot to burst through horses and win by half-a-length. It was the fourth win for the mare, who is trained by Jeff Mullins for Red Baron's Barn LLC and Rancho Temescal.

She previously broke through at stakes level when successful in the Listed Blue Norther Stakes and has also been placed in the Grade 3 Robert J. Frankel and Red Carpet Stakes; indeed, she has filled the frame in 13 of her 14 starts and now boasts earnings of almost $300,000.

"I had to be patient, I hung close to the (other horses), and I tried to wait as long as I could for an opening," said Hector Berrios. "Once I saw a clear opportunity, she responded well to my instructions to push forward."

Quattroelle was bred by John McEnery's Rossenarra Bloodstock out of Heavenly River, a Stormy River half-sister to Listed winner Katie's Diamond, herself the dam of last season's Queen Mary Stakes heroine Dramatised.
