Perfect News lands Tally-Ho Stud Ballyogan Stakes

Congratulations to all the connections of Perfect News, winner of the Group 3 Tally-Ho Stud Irish EBF Ballyogan Stakes at Naas on Sunday.

Trained by William Haggas on behalf of Sheikh Rashid Dalmook al Maktoum, the Frankel filly made a late challenge under Chris Hayes to deny Cheveley Park Stud's Benefit to win by a half-a-length with Tereza Mendoza another neck away in third.

"That was nice. I spoke to Mr Haggas this morning and he said she would handle the ground but wouldn't be as effective as she would with an ease," said Chris Hayes. "I didn't feel they went overly quick but I was at the pin of my collar for the first couple of furlongs. However, past halfway she leapt back into the bridle.

"She toughed it out well. She's an improving filly and that's some important black-type for her."

Perfect News was bred by Rabbah Bloodstock out of the 2015 Lowther Stakes winner Besharah, appropriately a daughter of Kodiac.

Also on the card, Hodd's Girl came out on top in the Inns Of Court at Tally-Ho Handicap. Trained by Ado McGuinness on behalf of the Rocky Horror Partnership, the mare is appropriately a daughter of our former resident
