Tally-Ho bred Kodiac filly Olivia Maralda impressive in Surrey Stakes

Kodiac was back in the news on Friday as the Tally-Ho-bred Olivia Maralda ran out the impressive winner of the Listed Surrey Stakes for the Amo Coutinho Syndicate and Roger Varian on the Oaks undercard at Epsom.

Her win came on the same afternoon that Kodiac two-year-old Emperor's Son made a taking winning debut for Richard Fahey in a competitive novice at Carlisle. Like Olivia Maralda, he was bred by us at Tally-Ho Stud.

Olivia Maralda was part of our Tattersalls Craven breeze-up draft last April, where she sold for 460,000gns to Amo Racing and Partners. She showed good form last season, notably when beaten less than a length by Meditate in the Group 2 Debutante Stakes, and again looked potentially high-class on Friday with a powerful finishing kick that propelled her nearly three lengths clear of the colts Holguin and Streets Of Gold.

Olivia Maralda was bred by us out of the Listed-placed Yajala, who is also dam of the Jersey Stakes runner-up Society Power and Listed-winning Evil Spell.

Olivia Maralda becomes the 86th stakes winner for Kodiac.
