Kodiac and Mehmas on top in Euro 2yo Classifications

Kodiac and Mehmas were among those to come out on top within the European 2yo Classifications, which were revealed on Wednesday.

No fewer than five 2yos by Kodiac made the 2020 ratings - no other sire could boast more.

Mehmas, meanwhile, was represented on the list by two individual 2yos to place him behind only Kodiac, Galileo and Dubawi. He was the only first-crop sire to boast multiple representation.

Kodiac's brilliant quintet were headed by the Tally-Ho-bred Prix Morny and Queen Mary Stakes heroine Campanelle. Her rating of 113 places her on a par with Pretty Gorgeous and Shale as the best among the filly division.

Campanelle (pictured below), who was bred by Tally-Ho out of Janina and sold for 190,000gns as a yearling to Ben McElroy, shares her 113 rating with the Gimcrack Stakes runner-up Devilwala. Coventry Stakes winner Nando Parrado, who later ran second to Campanelle in the Prix Morny, has been awarded a rating of 111 while Ubettabelieveit and Umm Kulthum, successful in the Flying Childers and Firth Of Clyde Stakes respectively, share a rating of 110.

Mehmas is responsible for the highest-rated British-trained two-year-old of 2020 in the Clive Cox-trained Supremacy. Bred in Ireland by Kangyu International Racing, Supremacy won the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood before capping his season with a victory in the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket.

Supremacy has been rated 118 while another son, Gimcrack Stakes winner Minzaal, is rated 111.
